Biking

Last weekend Beth and Mike came down to the cities to celebrate Beth's birthday. The one thing you can count on when hanging out with them, is a good workout. On Saturday Beth, Mike and I went to the Mammoth trail in Chaska (scene of Jon's biking accident a while back). It was surprisingly dry. On Sunday, Jon got to come to. We went to Salem Hills in Inver Grove Heights. It was a really nice place and much more matched to my skill level! Here are some photos.

Good Weekend

So this week I was kind of in a funk. It's kind of crazy how a couple hours of cross country skiing makes everything better. We also got to hold a brand new baby. That helps too.

Lutsen

This weekend we went to Lusten for a little skiing with my sister and brother-in-law. Lusten is about an hour and half, maybe two, north of Duluth and definitely the best downhill skiing to be had in Minnesota. We had a great time, although our accommodations left something to be desired.

Beth and Mike both telemark skied. It's sort of a cross between downhill and cross country. The boots and skis are similar to downhill, but only your toe is hooked in, your heel is free. It looks hard. My sister "accidentally" took me down a black run. It wasn't that bad and I actually went down it on purpose later on. Don't be too impressed though. A black in MN is probably more like a blue in MT. Anyway, here a few pictures . . .

New Website

I've found a new weightloss website. My sister in law recommended it. It's called FitDay. It helps you keep track of your calories and workouts. It also has cool charts and graphs.
So far, I've learned that I like carbs.

Never Ending Quest

In my never ending quest to lose weight and eat healthier, I'm trying something new. I signed up on a website called Peer Trainer. Basically, all you do is log what you eat and what you do for exercise. The best part is that it's free. Right now it's going well. We'll see how it goes after I start classes next week. Here is a picture to inspire me:

Pictures

We had some family photos taken recently by Karen Feder Photography. I highly recommend her for obvious reasons. Check them out if you want:
